About This Event
Once a year, all six congregations of the Huronia Community of Churches set aside their own sanctuaries and gather as one family of faith. This year we meet outdoors at Couchiching Beach Park for a single combined service, followed by a shared picnic lunch on the lawn.
It’s one of the few times all year you’ll see faces from St. Athanasius, St. David, St. George, St. James, St. John, and the Parish of Washago-Price’s Corners in the same place at the same time — a visible reminder that, while we worship in different buildings most Sundays, we are one community.
What to Expect
- An outdoor combined service, roughly 60 minutes, led by clergy from across the community
- Seating provided, but folding chairs are welcome if you prefer your own
- A shared picnic lunch immediately following the service
- Activities for children and youth throughout the afternoon
- Free parking and accessible washrooms on site
What to Bring
This is a potluck-style picnic — please bring a dish to share if you’re able (mains, sides, or desserts are all welcome). We’ll also have a sign-up sheet at each church in the weeks leading up to the event so we can balance out the food table. Sunscreen, a hat, and a lawn chair are all good ideas too.
